Project mention: What's the Godot way to structuring the communication with the GUI? | /r/godot | 2023-11-04For some context, I'm an experienced (~10 years) programmer starting to dabble in game development. I'm learning to build various systems to gain experience and understanding, and recently I was interested in developing a dialogue system with an editor similar to what Dialogic provides.
Another option if you don't want to implement it yourself though is to use an already built library. I've been playing with YarnSpinner a little bit recently and I'm liking it so far. I can't give much more details than that, but it's maybe worth a look. At least for some reference.
Project mention: Unleash the Power of Video-LLaMA: Revolutionizing Language Models with Video and Audio Understanding! | dev.to | 2023-06-12We extend our deepest gratitude to the extraordinary projects that have influenced and contributed to the development of Video-LLaMA. We're indebted to MiniGPT-4, FastChat, BLIP-2, EVA-CLIP, ImageBind, LLaMA, VideoChat, LLaVA, WebVid, and mPLUG-Owl for their invaluable contributions. Special thanks to Midjourney for creating the stunning Video-LLaMA logo, encapsulating the essence of our groundbreaking project.
Project mention: I made a quick tutorial for building a reusable menu node with a moving pointer | /r/godot | 2023-06-15This is the basis for the menu I use in my own game as well as my Dialogue Manager addon.
Project mention: Microsoft: Large-scale pretrained models for goal-directed dialog | news.ycombinator.com | 2023-06-05
I've been using https://github.com/NotYetGames/DlgSystem which has been really helpful.
Project mention: A question regarding using right to left languages in gamemaker | /r/gamemaker | 2023-07-21Just use Scribble. Your method is highly inefficient using an object for each character, and Scribble will handle everything you need and a lot more very efficiently.

Project mention: does anyone have a non-video tutorial for creating a dialog system? | /r/gamemaker | 2023-05-31JujuAdams/Chatterbox which PowerPlaidPlays mentioned in his comment may appear in your search results. friendlycosmonaut/Dialogue-System is at the top of my search results. I could see a few others - nothing wrong with more references, right? Just pick your favorite implementation, design pattern, or coding style.
Project mention: [R] Decision-Oriented Dialogue for Human-AI Collaboration (Berkeley + Microsoft) — making LLM agents more collaborative in everyday tasks | /r/MachineLearning | 2023-06-08Code: https://github.com/jlin816/dialop
- ScribbleBox: Another gem by JujuAdams, Scribblebox is a combination of Scribble and Chatterbox. Scribble handles the text rendering, and Chatterbox handles dialogue. I write dialogue in a program called Crochet, which saves your dialogue in a .yarn file that Chatterbox can import into Gamemaker. Learning Yarn was a bit of a process but wasn't hard. I can even use Input to make text clickable with the mouse, which was a huge pain without it. If your game has much dialogue, I strongly recommend it.
