Project mention: Authentication system using Golang and Sveltekit - Login and Logout | dev.to | 2023-06-04Although there are pretty good session managers in the Go ecosystem such as alexedwards/scs, golangcollege/session and gorilla/sessions, we won't use any but using this great guide, we'll write our own. This is to keep our project's dependence on external packages at the barest minimum.
The lack of logout and XSS are problems, but I ran into a couple apps that completely forgot to expire sessions due to lacking framework support. In nodejs's cookie-session and @google-cloud/connect-firestore sessions never expire. This issue impacts downstream software including, awkwardly enough, Google's Passkey demo apps. There isn't interest in fixing this.
Make sure your app is actually using a JWT framework, not a lesser version, and implements basic security practices.

I use Pode for my little projects. One mocks the api's of a device for testing a module with out having the device exposed to the internet for GitHub actions. Pode also works well under Linux.
