Project mention: How do you manage transactions in Go? Do we really need to use one transaction for each request? | /r/golang | 2023-06-02Have you taken a look at SpiceDB? The Authzed blog has a few posts that are useful to improving your understanding -- I can think of two: New Enemies and Writing relationships to SpiceDB.
Try optimizing your PC; I recommend following Amit's guide: https://github.com/amitxv/PC-Tuning or Calypso's: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1c2-lUJq74wuYK1WrA_bIvgb89dUN0sj8-hO3vqmrau4/edit?usp=sharing
Project mention: what tweaks work for you to boost fps? (upgrade hardware do not count, i dont have money). | /r/lowendgaming | 2023-06-16as far as the os is concerned, following a latency optimization guide would help you cut down the bloat. here is a good collection of these guides
Project mention: Tools to compare ping times between ISPs to common services | /r/homelab | 2023-11-24Check out the smokeping_prober. It generates high resolution histogram data that you can use to compare different paths.

Love this. I'm used to use speedtest.net back in the day, but this is so much better in so many ways and provides so much more data.
We're thrilled to share the vision behind our open source decentralized streaming project, which is currently in its alpha stages of development. Our primary objective is to build a stable and reliable foundation that will serve as the cornerstone for future growth.
Here's a snapshot of our ambitious goals:
1. Cluster: Create a decentralized media server cluster with multiple zones. Our commitment is to support a broad range of SDKs and mainstream protocols like RTMP, SIP, and SRT to ensure seamless compatibility.
2. Marketplace: Develop a sharing marketplace that will enable resource sharing and monetization. This marketplace platform will not only help our partner scale during high-demand periods but also reduce costs during lulls. With a long vision, the revenue generated from this marketplace service fees will be instrumental in funding the project's development.
3. P2P Network: Our long-term goal is to establish a peer-to-peer network where servers act as fallbacks, significantly cutting infrastructure costs and paving the way for limitless scalability.
Currently, our focus is laser-sharp on achieving Goal 1. To stay updated on our progress details of our project roadmap, please visit our github page or follow our updates at 8xFF Foundation page.
We're excited to embark on this journey and can't wait to share our progress with you. Let's build the future of media servers with us!

Project mention: Apparently the upcoming Finalmouse ULX will be the fastest mouse in terms of latency | /r/MouseReview | 2023-10-29Finalmouse just released its new latency measurement tool, the XLAT, which is supposedly more accurate than the Nvidia LDAT for measuring mouse latency. https://github.com/teamfinalmouse/xlat
may you guide me on how to install the scrip or to run int for testing ping for best server? https://github.com/bastiandoetsch/mullvad-best-server
Project mention: Benchmarking latency across common wireless links for microcontrollers | news.ycombinator.com | 2024-02-09We nerd sniped ourselves into testing the latencies of a whole bunch of wireless communication links and protocols for microcontrollers.
We’ll probably do a series of power consumption / range tests later on, let me know if there are any setups in particular that you’d be interested in seeing test cases for.
Raw data, firmware and post processing scripts are here on GitHub:
