    Project mention: A good, fast hash for nucleotides triplet converted to 0, 1, 3, 2 using `3 & (nuc << 1)` | /r/bioinformatics | 2023-04-06

While that works for the canonical bases your method won't support CCN which should give Proline. Hence, for my implementation I have opted for a slower but more general approach. As protein coding sequences are usually short performance isn't an issue, really.

Project mention: dna_parser : A Python package written in Rust to encode DNA sequences for machine learning. | /r/rust | 2023-05-17

I started to work on a Python library written in Rust to encode DNA sequences (stored in the FASTA format) for machine learning applications. I recently released a first version even if the project is in a very early stage and things will be changed/upgraded/improved. dna_parser 0.1 can be easily installed with pip: pip install dna-parser
