Project mention: Have a H2N Mic, trying to find out how to get the best sound quality for streaming | reddit.com/r/audioengineering | 2021-06-03

I have a H2n Mic (absolute great beast of a Mic might I say), and a mba 2017. I intend on using the microphone for streaming and commentating gameplay (twitch)–don't worry I'm getting another laptop soon (this one isn't really ideal for gaming and streaming). I am new to audio engineering and don't really understand all those terms (e.g. compressor, eq, low cut+++). I have recently started using Eq for mac for my Oppo PM-3 Headphones that has significantly improved the output with some increase to the bass and treble levels. On the actual H2n Mic, there are options to: Switch on/off 'Lo Cut' (spelt like that), comp/limiter presets (general, vocal, or drum preset), Input monitor on/off, and auto gain off/concert/solo/meeting. I don't really know or fully understand what any of these settings do, are, or mean, so I appreciate any help in understanding this stuff. The mic also has different settings at the top with a dial consisting of the following options: MS, quad channel (4 channel), XY, and dual channel (2 channel). Does anyone know what settings I should tweak in the mic for optimal use for me, and what option should I use at the top of the mic (with the dial)? Is there a software I should download to make my mic sound better? Do you have any tips/tricks or know something I should do/not do/look out for? Btw I think I'll be using the mic about 10-20 cm or so away from me (using a tripod that holds it diagonally around my mouth level. Should I change/tweak/adjust anything about the positioning of the mic and it's distance from my mouth, or it's overall placement position?

find the "Code" button on your repo and then copy the url from the box that opens. Then, in a terminal, run git clone https://github.com/alexadam/img-encode.git (or the url you copied). this downloads the repository to your local system. From there, every repository is different, so you'll have to consult the readme for that repo to understand it better
