How hackable is Flutter?
FWIW, I released a naive implementation of a widget recently (ThemeModeSelector) and now I am documenting all of the things I have to implement to raise it to the same level of quality as an official “prosumer” widget.

My first Flutter package is now available — thememode_selector | Flutter Package
Mostly it is a learning process for me. If you look at the source code for many of those switches, including mine, they are very naive in their approach. Most don’t have tests, proper documentation, are not using proper themes, keyboard support, Material states or many other features a high-grade widget should. I’ve begun to document my journey to deep dive into these concepts, and I will be enhancing this component on its way to version 1.0 as I learn more. Feel free to follow along.
