  • Using OLKB Planck with Qwiic Connector. Anyone had success?
    reddit.com/r/olkb | 2021-01-24
Yes! This was my main intent when I added the Qwiic connector to the PCBs :) a lot of the work I did on this was a couple of years ago (2018 it looks like), but the code is still there in the qwiic_hub branch. I had hoped to have an ecosystem of these things to be able to easily hot-plug Qwiic Keyboard-enabled devices, but never made it that far.

If it really bugs you, you can get it to run QMK, at which point you can remap the whole keyboard to your tastes. https://github.com/qmk/qmk_firmware/blob/8b90822f6e707830904426dc05501bffcb69ec18/keyboards/kinesis/readme.md

Ok, got it working with the soarer version on a pro micro, but I found it is possible to do it using qmk, that for me is easier as I'm more familiar with it, so in the end I'm using https://github.com/qmk/qmk_firmware/tree/master/keyboards/converter/ibm_terminal which works natively with a pro micro
  • [Help] Sofle's halfs' RX pins connected to each other?
    reddit.com/r/olkb | 2021-01-21
I don't know off the top of my head which mechanism the Sofle uses (qmk's serial https://github.com/qmk/qmk_firmware/blob/master/keyboards/sofle/rev1/config.h); but "RX connected to RX" doesn't smell to me.

you can do the same thing with the different layers, just find the section you want to edit, make the change to the key and re-flash. if you mess it all up, all you have to do is go to https://github.com/qmk/qmk_firmware/blob/master/keyboards/planck/keymaps/default/keymap.c and copy/paste the whole file in your keymap.c and save/flash it back. good luck
