Every browser sucks
I find the forums much better today, now that someone is gone.. They have always been quick to help or point out the problem. You're right that he shouldn't be so quick to suggest another browser (although it does help the person, not Pale Moon), he should emphasize reporting to site-devs and https://webcompat.com/ more, to get it working for everyone with fallback code.
- Firefox lost ~16M users since last year

How do you protect elderly / tech-illiterate family members?
I set them up with Brave too. If a website doesn't work, my parents will throw it all out and go back to Chrome. I personally use Firefox but it has too many web compatibility issues to be a viable thing for them.

Website blocked on Firefox only
On FF Nightly it won't even open, page returns as blank. I suggest you report this to https://webcompat.com/ if it keeps happening.
Reported here https://webcompat.com/issues/116288 and here https://github.com/webcompat/web-bugs/issues/116288
