Yes, use VDO.Ninja, it's the best option for 1080p. I use it especially in combination with my VDON-Call (see https://github.com/rse/vdon-call), a small VDO.Ninja wrapper to act as a convenient vMix-Call alternative.

Hence, I wanted an alternative solution for both vMix and OBS Studio to bring in remote callers. So, I've crafted together a solution I now named "VDON Call" and which I share as Open Source with you under https://github.com/rse/vdon-call. It uses an opinioned VDO.Ninja parameterization and a special companion OBS Studio profile and scene collection to allow up to 8 remote callers to be ingested into a video production (each with camera and content) and to deliver back a return feed of the video production's program. All this is running just fine on a medium gaming PC, separate to the one doing the video production itself. I've crafted together a solution I now named "VDON Call" and which I share as Open Source with you under https://github.com/rse/vdon-call. It uses an opinioned VDO.Ninja parameterization and OBS Studio configuration to allow up to 8 remote callers (with both camera and shared content) to be ingested into your vMix video production (via NDI) again.
