    You should be able to do this same thing with TinyPilot TinyPilot has lots of bugfixes since Key Mime Pi. Key Mime Pi is limited to en-US systems, but TinyPilot should work on any language system. TinyPilot out of the box does several things on your TODO list, including installing itself as a service and restricting access to localhost (it routes external HTTP traffic through nginx on port 80). It will install uStreamer and look for a video source, but it doesn't really matter if there isn't one there.
