Python Script Setup Instructions
I wanted to be able to get specific percentile data for each industry (and not just the median), so I spun up a new script to calculate the 10th / 25th / 50th / 75th / 90th percentile numbers for a couple of key financial stats by industry. Here's the script; here's what the output looks like; here's how I use it in my spreadsheet when looking at companies. Warning that if you want to pull data for a whole bunch of industries at once, you may run into connection errors mid-way through the script, which is why I have it save the results to a csv as it's calculating along the way so you don't lose all the interim data entirely. If it dies along the way, I typically run the script again with a shortened list of industries (taking out the industries that I've already got data for). It's a bit finicky, but I imagine I'll probably only pull this every month or so, so I don't mind that it's a bit extra work.
