  Hi thanks for the directions. It make much more sense now. I have a question if you don't mind. I found Slingplayer 1.5.338 through this Github discussion. I got to the Audio/Video setup screen, and I don't see anywhere I can upload a bin file? All I see is this where it makes me select from a list of codes. Is there another ver 1.5x that lets you upload a bin. Thanks so much again.

  For all your questions there might be an answer on "https://github.com/GerryDazoo/Slinger/discussions" ;-). But as far as I understand ... If you have a new, never configured, unused M1 you can use it as described above. If the M1 has already been configured (at least) once, then there are two possibilities: 1. factory reset (then it is like a new one). 2. you have to find out the essential configuration data (PW, IP, port and if necessary remote control settings). Hopefully the previous owner has documented this data. But if not ... The difficulty is that the PW was stored on Slingmedia's servers. Normally the user never saw or experienced the PW assigned by Slingmedia during configuration. But it was possible to read it from the Slingmedia servers. Probably very few people did that before Slingmedia/Dish shut down the servers. Just go to "https://github.com/GerryDazoo/Slinger/discussions" or "https://discord.com/channels/1032667324945281054/1032667325431816224". There you can ask questions and/or search for answers.

• Slinger Remote Questions

  I see the custom remotes in Gerry's repo here (https://github.com/GerryDazoo/Slinger/tree/main/CustomRemotes) and am trying to understand how to make a new one. Will the remote simply work if it was already configured prior? My cable box is a Motorolla/SA with composite out, which I intend to keep for the time being, but what if I need to switch this later?
