Something wrong with the plugin download?
I was following the setup guide from https://github.com/FFXIV-ACT/setup-guide so I guess that's out of date then.

FFXIV Can look much better with some tweaking
Yup, my personal recommendations: *GShade (visual enhancements, I use Espresso Glow)! *XIVLauncher (Updates game faster + a LOT of useful shit, I'll describe it below)! *ACT (DPS parser)! *Material UI (Makes the UI look a bit more modern)! Additional visual enhancements: *Hair Defined (Hair looks better)! *Face Defined (Faces look better)! *NPC Defined (Main NPCs look better)! *Owl Eyes of Eorzea (Eyes look better)! *Halo Eyes (Halo effect from lighting in eyes)
- A small tip for new players. In case you don't want to use any parsers, watch these small numbers near job icons in the party list. They show how much enmity you generate and can be used as approximate values of your dps\hps performance.
