How to increase contrast for games
Download all the shaders/textures from the ReShade and SweetFX repositories. Merge them, you should have a single Shaders folder with all shaders and a single Textures folder with all textures.
For Vulkan games (also D3D through the use of DXVK/VKD3D) you can use vkBasalt to change not only contrast, but improve the image in many ways through the use of ReShade shaders. To increase contrast, you can use the Curves.fx shader from SweetFX. I also like DPX.fx from that repository, it allows you to increase contrast but also make the image warmer and more vivid. Tonemap.fx is great if you want to change gamma, exposure, saturation, I highly recommend it.
- Where can I get the .fx files, like fakehdr.fx? I have a game install from someone else, but when I install reshade to another game, most fx files are missing. Can I just copy and paste? (Even if they're from an older version?)

Played around with some Nvidia shaders trying to recreate a Battlefield 3/4 visuals and a more realistic feel. Thoughts/ideas to make it better?
Some of these have to be added on from https://github.com/crosire/reshade-shaders/tree/nvidia
To do this you need a Nvidia GPU and then install GeForce Experience, then turn on Freestyle mode, then play around with the filters. You also need this official add-on pack for extra filters that I used https://github.com/crosire/reshade-shaders/tree/nvidia

Reshade 5.0.1 have been released.
And as u/x3kmak points out you can tell the installer to get https://github.com/crosire/reshade-shaders/tree/master and it will get the legacy effects as they have not been taken offline.
you can install the legacy repository using the link https://github.com/crosire/reshade-shaders/tree/master , but 5.x.x versions has some issues with some games so sticking with 4.9.1 is also a good choice.
- Want to start MODDING textures and shaders, but don't no where to start? I reached out to one of my favorite modders, and here was his response.
