Banking Apps
I use >10 apps from >5 different finance-related entities. All of them work as intended on CalyxOS. Yet YMMV. You may want to run the ones you're intending to use through Plexus.

Question about new phones rather than using an older one
If you cannot afford a Pixel in your region and still want a degoogled ROM I would suggest you DivestOS (it is based on LineageOS but degoogled) if you don't need microG or Sandboxed Play Services. See app support on Plexus. Maybe you will find a phone that is reported as Tested and Working + Lockable bottloader.

create an isolated environment in calyx and install in this environment the google play services
i understand, however what i mean is, you dont need google, the apps work just fine, also sandboxed gapps is worse than microg, not all apps are gonna work still, some wont, microg probably got more compatibility. both cant support in app purchases, however any non gapps supported purchases will work just fine, specially if its in the browser, as well as banking apps work, its rare if a banking app wont work, however you may find apps that dont work. btw i think that you confused with sandboxed gapps and normal gapps, to be clear as i said, sandboxed gapps will not be the same as normal gapps provided within the system without sandboxing, the one graphene did was sandboxing it and this not only is less compatible than microg but you wont get any benefits like in ap purchases, etc, so either microg or a normal phone w gapps if you require apps that only work with it. i can test whatever apps you wanna use to make sure they work. or there is also this site https://plexus.techlore.tech/ to check which work or not or which work on graphene and not calyx, vice versa.

Do any Linux phones have access to Apple App Store or Android App Store?
You might like the Plexus tool to help you figure out which apps may or may not work on these "de-Googled" Android ROMs. However, I do not know how current is the information. I use CalyxOS, and I have found a lot of apps work for me.

I don't know where to ask this but is calyxos safe for bank payments? Are there any issues with the esim, NFC and safety net?
As far as app compatibility is concerned on a custom ROM, you can check out Techlore's [Plexus](https://plexus.techlore.tech) project (I don't know if that list has been updated in a while or not so try an app and see if it works for you). I have heard positive experiences from other users that PayPal and CashApp work just fine on CalyxOS.

Sandboxing Play apps?
You can check if your apps will work well with Microg or without any Google services here.
