Best headless CMS and SSG for Vue 3 and Vite
I did use Strapi and Nuxt to build a (small) SSG Website. You probably can't really go wrong with any of these CMS though, but it always dependens on your use case. Directus is a lot closer to your database, so you can already use data from it i think. Strapi uses their own schema how it saves stuff. Another good CMS that I've tried and is also self hosted and nodejs is https://payloadcms.com/

Payload, a headless TypeScript CMS, just shipped 20+ new features, including Versions, Drafts, & Autosave
Hey all, I'm a founder of Payload CMS and we just shipped our biggest release to date. It includes a ton of new features, bug fixes, and quality of life improvements - the most notable being a brand new Versions feature that stores changes to documents over time. Payload also now supports a true Drafts mode as well as an Autosave feature, which allows for you to build a true preview experience into your frontend sites and apps.

Ask HN: Modern SSG/CMS for teams with different skill sets?
It sounds like [Payload CMS](https://payloadcms.com) would be a great fit for what you're after - especially if you're all in on TypeScript and React.
The flexible content models and rich text editor makes me think you'll find it interesting.

Suggestions for simple CMS without a lot of frills or heavy front-end
Hey /u/Dutch_guy_here - I am a founder of Payload CMS and I know what you mean. I felt that way about a lot of headless CMS as well while building websites both large and small at my digital agency and that's a big reason for why we built Payload. I published a video series regarding how our design firm builds a high-end marketing website from top to bottom which might help you see how it all works if you're interested. The code is fully open source for the whole project as well. Take a look!

why is no one using css grid?
We built the Payload CMS website using it and it worked well there. We really only use it for horizontal layouts, and use it primarily for its flexibility in terms of gutters and column positioning, but it is still superior to flex. However, much of what we do with grid could be done with flex too.
