  • Make a mining pool together

Yes, but they have GitHub and their mining pool source code was there and used by many other pools and I'm grateful for that. =)
  • Idea to better distribute Monero’s hashrate away from MineXMR | 2021-02-09
one idea I had is to create a new kind of pool that allows for block delegates. So, for background, there is a new pool type that jtgrassie created that allows miners to create their own blocks, and then submit them to the pool, and then the pool distributes the block rewards accordingly. This is called stratum select. It's been around for over a year now. No pool has implemented it.
  • Request suggestions or recommendations regarding VPS security setting for my personal Monero mining pool.
Not being satisfied with the probabilities for reward by running a Monero full node on a VPS, and having more CPU’s available on VPS’s, lying around, etc., I sought a method to combine the powers in order to increase rewards. Performing an internet search on mining led to SWAP (XWP), “Run Your Own SWAP MINING Pool!” and offers a micropool, whereby anyone can setup all their CPU’s to mine as a single private pool, then that pool is directed to a vendor’s pool for further combining. So, this is what I wanted, but without the vendor. Further searching uncovered jtgrassie’s monero pool at github. , and I watch his interview on Monero Talk, titled “Jtgrassie on ‘Perfectly hiding and computationally binding’ NOT being a Monero weakness” Being convinced by his expertise, experience, and match to my need I decided to hire the fiverr to implement his github code. However, Jtgrassie points out that there is a minimal front end, “For a public pool, which typically entails having a fancy web UI, that part is down to you”. So, my fiverr contractor offered to include the common front end, saying, “We might be able to use that backend with this frontend:”. Though the frontend contains many more features than is needed for a micropool, it is less expensive to implement without change (I can configure as necessary for the micropool).
  • attempting to mine solo with a small pool.
What stats are you trying to check? AFAIK to get feedback on total pool hashpower you need to install some dedicated pooling software, like This or That. With that you also get a nice webgui.
  • Is it possible to run a private monero pool using windows?
You could do this with docker+monero-pool or just run pure VM linux with 4-6GB memory allocated + 1vCPU
  • Is a Monero P2Pool Totally Impossible or Just a Matter of Effort Involved? | 2021-01-05
Yes, I actually did a fair bit of work on a p3pool implementation for Monero and hit walls, largely due to our short block time (2m vs Bitcoin's 10m) and so ditched that plan in favor of Stratum self-select, which solves for the primary concern.
