  • Some of the most ambitious mostly unheard of mods out there. Many of which are not stable but still impressive. Most don't add content to the game but what they do is still incredible to me.
Mammoth Thousands of players on a single server without lag. What every server admin dreams of. (Unstable)

Server meshing is not that, server meshing is having servers dynamically assigned to a zone depending of the amount of players(or things that need more processing that a server can handle) there are in that zone and split dynamically them in two or more servers seamlessly, also two players on different zones that are next to each other or close but on different servers are supposed to interact and see each other as if they both were in the same server. An example would be: player 1 being inside of a capital ship full of people and player 2 being a in fighter attacking that ship, since the capital ship is full of people it's probably the game assigned a whole server to handle the capital ship itself and another for the surroundings of the ship so player 1 is connected to server 1 and player 2 is connected to server 2 but they both can see each other, shoot and each other and if player 2 were to board the capital ship he might be switched to server 1, the hard part obviously is making it so servers exchange information between them to update what's happening in their surroundings(aka different servers) and the interactions players of other servers have. There are some examples of other projects doing this: and
  • Having issues grasping Multiverse Core API
there are a few projects out there, but all are in early beta and nothing solid Closest I have seen is a POC for WorldQL
  • Why can't a Minecraft server scale to multiple cores?
Well, there's some project that aim to "solve" that, like Mammoth ( but it doesn't enable multi-core magically, it spread one world toward multiple servers and sync it so it has a lot of cons (I think you can forget using redstone at all).
  • Minecraft Server Software Optimization be like: (Mojang wen fix?)
You have a somewhat "middle ground" (not ready for production and with drawback):

  • This new code library might increase Minecraft server player counts in the future.

  • What would you do if you aren't allowed to profit from your ideas, but you are unemployed and you keep getting ideas? | 2021-09-15
In tech, if we don't implement our ideas fast, then it's not worthwhile at all, especially for small developers that hope to get open source support. The latest idea I had was similar to ["building a 1000+ player Minecraft server"](
  • 1000+ player server tech for Minecraft in one year - after dropping "server meshing"
  • How we built an auto-scalable Minecraft server for 1000+ players using WorldQL's spatial database | 2021-09-07 | 2021-09-06
  • Mildly related: Some modders are working on creating dynamic server meshing for minecraft enabling 1000+ players
  • Some folks made a 1000+ multiplayer solution for Minecraft that is _open source_.
  • Unpopular opinion: PS2 is actually surprisingly well balanced
Ooo, somebody made a 1000+ mutliplayer solution for minecraft that's open source!
  • 2wannabe4programming
As for this post, I got sad because someone else took this idea:
