  • Sharp x86000 / NEC-PC98 dataset
    2 projects | /r/RetroArch | 9 Dec 2023
I've been trying to pretty up my collection by making sure everything is validated and has the appropriate boxart. About the only things i've had problems with are the Sharp X86000 and NEC-PC98. These have named boxarts/etc found in the libretro git but I can't seem to find any corresponding dat file to link any particular romset with the retroarch database. Has anyone else dealt with this?

If you want to dig in deeper, you can enable rumble for a few games, as well. It's not so simple, though, and will require some work (lots of trial and error). A few PSX games that support DualShock will just treat the analog stick as another D-pad or simply not use analog. These work fine with no tweaking (such as with Tekken 3). Some games will use analog for everything with DualShock enabled. For these you can remap the D-pad to the analog X/Y directions (such as with Wipeout 3). Some games will use separate controls like D-pad for menus and analog for movement, which means you cannot remap (as you'll then lose access to one of the controls). Of those games, there are a few that let you go to their Settings to control how D-pad/analog work, allowing a work-around (such as with Gran Turismo). Some don't, and you simply have to go without rumble. You can find a partial list of games that support rumble here.

Only if you have (1) updated Retroarch and used it’s internal Online Updater to Update Databases, and (2) all GBA your roms came from “known … good copies” from a source specified on their database. For GBA that’s No-Intro validated dumps only.
