  • BUG: Windows High Contrast Mode disables Programmatic Style Changes
    reddit.com/r/JavaFX | 2021-02-23
It seems like there is code deep inside PlatformImpl that will detect Windows 10 High Contrast mode and then add a special "yellow on black" style sheet. Adding this UA style sheet seems to trigger the crazy JavaFX precedence rules so that programmatic API calls are silently fail.
  • Discussion About Javafx Controls Future Please
    reddit.com/r/java | 2021-02-17
Btw, you can see how hostile and arrogant maintainers to making things more open yourself (https://github.com/openjdk/jfx/pull/278#issuecomment-668314605). Just for one damned keyword, lol :D So, I don't believe these things will ever change, at least while Oracle is at the helm. JavaFX is more than file years in maintenance mode already, they almost lost entire community and they are still that stubborn. Well, good luck them with further "stewardship" I suppose :)
  • Is anybody using Scala for Desktop Development?
    reddit.com/r/scala | 2021-01-29
Okay. So, here's the list of release notes for the last few years: https://github.com/openjdk/jfx/tree/jfx15/doc-files You can look through each file. They're pretty detailed, but most of the work is pretty low-level. You can treat it simply as evidence that people work on JavaFX all the time.
