First time media server! Need advice
In theory, you can use Kodi and one of our addons to access JF through the xbox. I have no idea what the setup for that looks like though, and be aware that there's a bug in the current version of Kodi (19.3) that's preventing Jellyfin for Kodi from working correctly. Bug report.

Installed Jellyfin for Kodi and now i cant access Seren
Jellyfin for Kodi - This addon syncs metadata from selected Jellyfin libraries into the local Kodi database. This has the effect of making interacting with it feel very much like vanilla Kodi with local media (shows up under Movies/TV Shows on the home screen by default, virtually no delay, etc). However, it also tends to consume the database and not share well, so if you have local media or something else that interacts with the database directly, you'll have conflicts and it won't be happy. The sync process can take some extra time on Kodi startup if you don't leave it running 24/7, but it's mostly in the background while Kodi is running.

Is there any way to fix embedded subtitles not showing up on firetv?
Maybe you are referring to some comments I made a couple of weeks ago, in which case I've written about it in detail here: https://github.com/jellyfin/jellyfin-kodi/issues/606

Jellyfin Kodi Add-On Not Adding New Music & Manual Rescan Options Missing
The music sync has been reported here https://github.com/jellyfin/jellyfin-kodi/issues/607. I haven't personally been able to replicate it yet, but there's other factors involved on my dev instance.

Incorrect handling of multidisc albums on Kodi
In which case that would mean it's an issue in the metadata sync and is probably gonna be a pain to track down. Opening an issue at https://github.com/jellyfin/jellyfin-kodi/issues would be helpful so it doesn't get lost in the reddit noise.

Subtitles don't save on Kodi Jellyfin.
btw, this is far more likely to get looked at if you open an issue at https://github.com/jellyfin/jellyfin-kodi/issues. I have the memory of a goldfish and will probably forget to look here later on when i have time to look into it

Jellyfin for Kodi and new Emby for Kodi
a lot of refactoring and housekeeping, both from a cleanliness point of view and from a making it easier to maintain point of view. an example of this is that when we forked, the repo had several full third party libraries embedded in the repo, instead of just marking them as dependencies that kodi could install and update separately. needless to say, they were very out of date. Or some fun stuff like the infamous Void.
For those of use who use Kodi as playback client (its the most powerful and has many benefits) we use the standard plugin - https://github.com/jellyfin/jellyfin-kodi

Kodi watched status
The problem you seem to be running into is that the websocket connection has failed, but when kodi shuts down it records the current time. so things that were changed in the server between the time when the websocket failed and when kodi is restarted are "lost" and never picked up. This can be fixed manually be running a repair library from inside the addon. In future versions this shouldn't be an issue anymore once we have another release that includes this
