Discord did nothing but update the version of twemoji they use. If you have complaints take it to the GitHub repository

you're incorrect, discord has their own repo, yes, but the commit you linked is by the same person running the new repo people are talking about, and the commit's contents is the change that was made there. discord staff has also said they're using that repo and linked to it.

We just updated our Twemoji version in preparation for the new Unicode 15 release their team is working on - it came with this update and at least one more. Shout out to a great library: https://github.com/jdecked/twemoji/issues/8

They're using this now: https://github.com/jdecked/twemoji which has a fixed version of the horrible twemoji version of the 🥹 emoji
