There's a new "Google Jail" for independent wikis
Chrome/Firefox extension that redirects or alerts you when you open a Fandom or Fextralife wiki that has an independent alternative (many of which are migrations off those platforms): https://getindie.wiki/

Video Game Websites in the early 00s
The wiki format has indeed become ubiquitous for fan sites, but many fan wikis are fairly elaborate and ad-free (-ish, at least). Often the case for popular gacha games at least, e.g. https://bluearchive.wiki/.
The problem is that Fand*m makes finding results from the decent wikis unreasonably hard, I end up having to use extensions like https://getindie.wiki/.
Also, Discord all but killed the concept of a video game fan site...

uBlock Origin Lite Beta for Safari iOS
uBlock does not work. I don't know how people check that it works for them, but for me it definitely does not.
Neither does e.g. https://getindie.wiki/ - redirects don't work and I can't even get to the settings page from the menu (it does open once after install, but afterwards the button that's supposed to open it does nothing)

History 2701 Wiki
I've started using the Indie Wiki Buddy: https://getindie.wiki/
It allows you to filter Fandom sites from search results and will either inform you of an independent alternative or automatically redirect you to one, based on your preference. You can also have it redirect Fandom links to a BreezeWiki (https://breezewiki.com/) alternative, if no alternative independent wiki is available.

Why we're helping more wikis move away from Fandom
The sidebar link on the Minecraft wiki taught me about the extension "Indie Wiki Buddy," https://getindie.wiki/ which among other things prioritizes non-Fandom search results.

Stop Using Fandom
Yeah. LibRedirect is a nice generalist tool, but for wikis you are better off with Indie Wiki Buddy[1] which is a community led tool to point to the best avaialble wiki, or breeze if there isn't one. You def want this because some communities have made it a point to poison the fandom pages (see Terraria which is full of fake items and crafting recipes now).
