  • Vivaldi Replaces Firefox as the Default Browser on Manjaro Linux Cinnamon - It's FOSS News | 2021-09-09
Vivaldi isn't nearly as customizable on Android, but Firefox tipped it's hand by relaunching in a much less customizable form than it used to be last summer (Iceraven, an Android Firefox fork adds as much extra customizability into the mix as it can, but is limited by a lack of volunteer developers). That Firefox is more customizable than Vivaldi on Android may not be a permanent state of affairs in any event, as there isn't nearly as much of a gap as there used to be, when comparing the stable versions (Firefox for Android will give you a few more options if you volunteer to be a guinea pig and use nightly or beta versions, but those options aren't intended to even come to their real stable Android browser. Iceraven is the closest we'll ever get to that unless Mozilla changes the way they operate.).

I use Iceraven, which is available either directly via it's Github page (and then you would install updates periodically from that page manually, about once a month at present), or on F-Droid via the FFUpdater app, which manages installation and updates for a number of browsers and related apps, including Iceraven, more or less automatically (Depending on settings). Iceraven has a ton of add-ons available for it.

  • good underground browsers? | 2021-08-13
I'll be honest, I'm a little hazy on what the terms "underground" and "/g/" mean in this context, but if the gist of it is that you are looking for a browser that isn't used by millions of people, and you're using an Android phone, Iceraven is pretty cool.
  • Browser (Fennec, Ice Raven, Mull) | 2021-08-12
Yupp in terms of privacy and security mull is always better than iceraven. It's even mention on iceraven's github page that their are NO GUARANTIES OR WARRANTIES OF SECURITY OR UPDATES OR EVEN STABILITY. See this pic and this is the site

u/SignificantOne1747 recommends Iceraven, a Fennec/Firefox for Android fork that lets you install more addons.
