Regardless of software (touchegg + touché, fusuma, libinput-gestures + libinput-gestures-qt OR gestures, gebaar-libinput, gebaar-libinput-fork, syngesture, gestures), which gestures do you actively use on your Plasma desktop?

For trackpad gestures, checkout fusuma. Setting up is pretty straightforward. I’ve been using it for about 2-3 weeks now on Pop!_OS and it’s pretty good. There are times when gestures aren’t registered, but it works about 95% of the time.

I have both laptops and both touchpads are really nice. Though Apple's is nicer for being bigger and I prefer their materials to the XPS.

If you run linux on the XPS this project (https://github.com/iberianpig/fusuma) is great for configuring multi-touch gestures that work like the Mac.

  • hey guys is how can I switch between workspaces with touchpad only in linux mint? and get other benefits from touchpad guestures??
    reddit.com/r/linuxmint | 2021-02-25
The best tool i've found is fusuma. You can install it by following the instructions on the page. For gesture support in linux mint you can copy and paste the config in the wiki. I have been using it for months without a hiccup and its a very seamless experience. I also suggest installing ulauncher.
  • Is there a way I could finally switch over to Linux professionally ?
I'm afraid I can't speak to scaling issues or XORG/Wayland since I'm still in 1080p land. But for trackpad gestures I'm using fusuma on a thinkpad e480 and love it. In GNOME I have it set to change desktop on three finger up/down, and change tabs on three finger left/right. Four finger detection isn't great, neither is pinch/expand so be aware, but at least 3 finger actions work well for me.
