Embed url into downloaded file
If you want a concrete recommendation, all I can say without knowing exactly what you're doing is: you should at the very least consider solutions other than editing the file. This could mean sidecar files (e.g. info.txt), containers with metadata (e.g. warc), database applications (e.g. hydrus, even though it's a mess), etc.

I have become a better (gay) coder because of yuri
Well, I'm planning on using Hydrus which is effectively a personal booru. The issue is that you have to create all your own tags. That might be fine if you're starting from nothing but not when you have tens of thousands of images. So I'm making an app to gather data that will become the tags, including (if SauceNAO gives me a booru link) existing booru tags.

Is there any software that can Group/Organize images with the help of facial recognition?
Take a look to this Hydrus it has server capabilities, tag, and its fast. It also have useful tools like duplicate finder that is quite useful. The only downside is the face recognition, but is worth a try.

Image library sorting solution.
Hydrus (https://hydrusnetwork.github.io/hydrus/)? Not necessarily self-hosted but it does have a docker image, and I think there's ways to turn it into a self-hosted solution (hydrus.app comes to mind).

Any selfhosted media tagging app?
Sounds like you want Hydrus.

Automatically using images from Reddit as your Windows wallpaper
2) You can also use something like Hydrus to automatically download pictures from whatever sources (pixiv tags, various booru tags, artist's twitter/pixiv, subreddits etc), put them into a folder and use that folder as a source for wallpapers. This way you can actually curate which degeneracy images show up as your wallpaper. And it saves stuff on your computer, which means that you don't need constant internet connection just to show a wallpaper. But it needs some set up and to look through fresh downloads from time to time (still faster and much more flexible than manual downloading).
