Question regarding OppenRGB with QMK
I went through this exercise getting my Q6 hooked up to OpenRGB/Aurora a couple months ago, so yes it should be possible. You're going to have to compile OpenRGB from source and port one of the existing controllers to get it to detect your K8. If you have any specific questions, let me know and I can guide you through it.
That being said, to get OpenRGB to just recognise the keyboard, nothing special needs to happen on the QMK firmware side. That all happens in the KeyboardControllerDetect file.
- 2022 - still no RGB.
