Ask HN: What Are You Working On? (September 2025)
Final touches to RSSible [1]: URL + CSS selectors = RSS feed
I'm also working on a fun side-project web app that finds your "closest" GitHub neighbors based on the overlap of repos you've starred in the last 3 years. It calculates a simple Jaccard similarity between your recent stars and candidate users, then lists the top matches with links to their profiles.
You just enter your GitHub username, and it does the rest. The whole idea is derived from this post [2], but my query is a bit more sophisticated and surely more accurate [2].

RepoRoulette: Randomly Sample Repositories from GitHub
FYI, I did exactly this five years ago: https://ghe.clickhouse.tech/#github-roulette
It is done with a single SQL query, and the data is continuously updated: https://play.clickhouse.com/play?user=play#U0VMRUNUIHJlcG9fb...

We benchmark success rates, exactness, efficiency, query latency, and other metrics, comparing them to queries produced by an experienced human engineer.
