Ask HN: I just got my first job and I need to learn faster and better
I wouldn't overthink this, no ones expecting a new hire to instantly pick up the codebase. You mentioned you only got generic advice from the other developer, did you ask generic questions? It's difficult to answer vague questions. Most importantly I wouldn't extrapolate your experience at this company to sweeping generalizations about how smart you are - there's close to 0 correlation.
As for FastAPI specifically I'd check out the sample postgresql project tiangalo made, it's incredibly well put together.

Why is docker-compose not building the containers in the correct order?
I tried adding depends_on everywhere, it didn't fix the issue, moreover it seems that depends_on is deprecated https://github.com/tiangolo/full-stack-fastapi-postgresql/issues/273

FastAPI + SQLModel + FastAPI-crudrouter + testcontainers setup
I would say that after spending some time with the docs, and looking at demo repos such as this one https://github.com/tiangolo/full-stack-fastapi-postgresql you will start to see that most projects follow a familiar structure and from there things will just click and you'll be able to turn your ideas into code without thinking much about it. Good luck!

I wrote an alternative for the official FastAPI full stack project generator (more info in comment)
Hi, earlier this year I built a project using the official FastAPI full stack example. While working on my project, I realised that the FastAPI ecosystem has matured a lot since that template was created and many things that I ended up writing code for was already solved by others. And I didn't want to keep reinventing the wheel.

Confused between TypeScript or Javascript for a Vue project
I'm starting a new project using Vue, I'm using https://github.com/tiangolo/full-stack-fastapi-postgresql/ as a template where they use TypeScript but I'm don't know much about TypeScript, and the code there looks verbose and redundant to me, take the store/main/actions.ts for example, what do you guys suggest, should I learn TypeScript or transform the code to Javascript which I know better?
