  • Wich is the best way to play Daggerfall?
  • Asked on r/Morrowind, r/Skyrim and r/Oblivion. Why do you prefer that game?

Yeah. I obnoxiously bring up Daggerfall Unity whenever I can because I think not enough people know it's a thing.
  • Is it just me, or is the game kind of ruined by the bad combat system?
    Daggerfall Unity
I think you need the original which you have then you download daggerfall unity from here: https://github.com/Interkarma/daggerfall-unity/releases. It's been a while since I downloaded it but if you have issues I should be able to answer it

  • Here's a map I made for a homebrew adventure called Trade Kingdom of Quay
With Daggerfall Unity nearly complete I'd highly recommend it to anyone who's interested in old-school sim-rpgs. I've also played a ton myself in normal Daggerfall, however I'd recommend that less since you'll most likely be using every save slot just to bug-proof your game, and even then it's gonna hardlock itself at some point.
  • Hello, everyone! I just got the game thanks to Bethesda putting it up for free; I feel like I should ask you all of this, mostly to see if I'm generally going in a good direction. Is this a good build? (More info will be in the comments.)
I've been playing Daggerfall for about a month now. First, you should switch to Daggerfall Unity since it makes the game 100% more enjoyable to play with tons of quality of life improvements, modernization, and bug fixes. Second, based on my experience, your gonna wanna change a few things to your character creation. Phobia to undead is gonna ruin your day since a ton of enemies are going to be skeletons, mummies, etc. and you'll be at a disadvantage to hit them and do damage. Better disadvantages are ones the limit you from wearing certain armor or equipping certain weapons or shields you'll end up never using. Also, if you want to us magic at all, I'd do 3x intelligence for magic points, and increase your intelligence as high as it can go at the beginning of the game. Get rid of adrenaline rush advantage.
  • What is your favourite elderscrolls game?
If you want to play Daggerfall try the Unity version it has some nice graphics mods available for it and some nice QOL features https://www.dfworkshop.net/
  • Im new to reddit here. Im not sure how it works. But heres a lovely town i found.
Not the one you replied to, but it's actually super playable when using the Unity version. It's downright gorgeous with mods like D.R.E.A.M, too.
  • Are arenas and daggerfall worth playing?
Daggerfall is a gem of dungeon crawler history, and Daggerfall Unity makes it both easy to install and smooth to play. It also enables mod support, and there have been some mindblowing mods. Give it a few years and it'll look as good as Skyrim.
  • Having trouble getting normal maps to work.
If you're using 0.13.0 pre-release, loose-texture normal maps may not be working as expected with new default shaders. This is on my list to look at in next few days.
  • The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall was released 25 years ago today (Sep 20th, 1996). Bethesda made it free to download several years ago, for those that want to experience this classic.
