  • Improved Safe Shut Down Script for NESPi 4?

I use this https://github.com/crcerror/retroflag-picase. But I have never used it with RPi4, just RPi3.

one suggestion though: there's this improved shutdown script, its silent (no console text) and saves metadata on shutdown: https://github.com/crcerror/retroflag-picase you could maybe incorporate this in a future update, makes the whole built so much smoother :)

  • Fan still runs after shutting down RetroPie in a NESPi 4 case.

I'm using crcerror's fork of the shutdown script instead of the official one and for me it works very well. I'm booting from microSD while having an SSD in the cartridge slot for games/saves.
  • Kintaro Super Kuma 9000 case in 2021?

I did experiment with the NESPI+ shutdown script from user crcerror and it almost works. The reset button works fine and the power LED lights up. The problem is this - no matter where the power switch starts it will power up. The power button does nothing when slid to the OFF position or booting up in the OFF position. When booting in the ON position it also just boots up. When SLID into the ON position it looks like it goes through the shutdown but at the very end you get a KERNEL PANIC 0x00000000 error and it hangs.
  • Breadboarding? How about Cardboarding? (Plus a question about the Retroflag script I am trying to implement)
    1 project | /r/RetroPie | 28 May 2021
I am trying to implement [this script made for the Retroflag cases](https://github.com/crcerror/retroflag-picase). The reset button and LED (with resistor) work perfectly, but the power button does not. It causes a kernel panic when I hit the button (though the pie does shut off at least) I know why it doesn't work (I think). As I do not actually have a retroflag case, [I used this helpful comment on the Retropie forums to determine which GPIO pins are used for the hookups in the script.](https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/23102/exit-roms-via-gpio/7) However, I did not do anything with the "shutdown feedback" pin that was mentioned, as I have no idea how it is supposed to be hooked up and to what. Can anyone help me understand how this part functions in the retroflag case? Does it go to my power button or something else I don't have?
