Discord Alternatives, Ranked

Matrix's UI/UX is actually really flexible with multiple clients.
You aren't struck with Element, you can even use TUI clients or any clients.
For the web, the one which I really love is cinny.
Cinny is really awesome, its UI/UX is better than discord imo.
I recommend people to check out the matrix ecosystem of clients to see what they like, because I also liked the fractal gnu app & it has tons of clients.

Svelte Is That Fast
My issue is opposite.
I know svelte/sveltekit and would want to contribute to svelte apps (a good reminder that I should)
But there are some projects that I really really want to contribute to / heck even port to sveltekit like cinny and hedgedoc and the likes and so I almost feel pressured by the system to learn react so that I can finally feel confident enough to understand their repositories as they scare me right now...

Matrix v1.15 Release
There's cinny, which is a pretty polished Matrix client that is very, uh, inspired by Discord in its look, that might soon add voice rooms: https://github.com/cinnyapp/cinny/pull/2335
I played around with this implementation and it's looking pretty good. Not there yet, obviously, but we're in the ballpark I'd say.

Element as a Discord Alternative
Keep in mind Matrix is a protocol for messaging just like email is a protocol for mail. There's more than one client and Element just so happens to be the most popular one. A really good runner-up would be FluffyChat. Then there's Cinny
