I don't think there's a fix for this. This problem has many issue entries on github, and it will eventually get worked on at some point. However you could try this troubleshoot guide.

Currently there are still some issues with SSL certification but as soon as these are resolved we should expect to get a working extension manager again. After that, the community will be able to transition to the new branch of Brackets (brackets/brackets-cont) most likely by some kind of patch.

For html/css/js, I personally have enjoyed using atom, brackets and vscode. I've used all three as my primary at different points and each has it's advantages/disadvantages, I recommend giving them a try! Obviously all three of these will work just fine for python too, but sometimes it's nice to just use a real IDE.

He's starting with Atom (an IDE), you can literally (this one is dying on support though, thanks Adobe) use anything else if Atom doesn't work for you. Visual Studio by Microsoft themselves is a popular one. Go with whatever you feel comfortable with. (Though Visual Studio gives a ton of "extensions" you can customize with if you feel like browsing that)
  • "Open with Brackets" will not go away after deleting | 2021-06-01
Last year I downloaded when I was trying to learn some coding for my company. After a week I found it too difficult for my use and uninstalled it through the control panel. Now any time I go to open a PDF or other document I am still getting the "Open with Brackets" prompt if I right click the document I want to view.
