We will utilize the new @aws-sdk/client-ivs-realtime module (docs) of the AWS SDK for JavaScript (v3) to create the stage resource and participant tokens. Here is an example of a serverless application that you can use to handle these steps, but for my demo I decided to simplify things a bit and created an Express application that can be used to host the API and my front-end.
