    I don't think this code is a good example of embedded C++ to learn from. Looking at RotaryEncoder.h, there's no good reason for the Encoder and Bounce members to be heap-allocated when they are constructed by RotaryEncoder non-polymorphically). Since NUM_OF_KNOB_CONTROLLERS is a compile-time constant, the whole array could be statically allocated.
