Final Cut Pro Trademark Update Suggests Apple Eyeing Future Subscription Model
Aperture doesn’t work on newer macs because it’s a 32-bit app that Catalina dropped support for. You can still run Aperture on Mojave or you can use Retroactive which enables Aperture to run on Catalina and Big Sur.

2012 iMac 27" owners: How's the performance of Big Sur?
Wouldn't https://github.com/cormiertyshawn895/Retroactive resolve that issue?

Lastpass free limits to single device from March 16
For all kinds of reasons, I hate what they did there, abandoning Aperture functionality — there remains zero other software that fills what Aperture did for me. Even though Capture One and Adobe Lightroom Classic can both import from it to a degree:
https://learn.captureone.com/blog-posts/migrating-apple-aper...
That said, Aperture could still open an Aperture library using the final versions of Aperture up until Mojave.
From the time Aperture was discontinued, Aperture itself worked through six versions of MacOS, until Catalina.
As of Catalina, Aperture no longer ran native[1], but Photos itself could still open and migrate those libraries (note: I have not tried in Big Sur).
While Photos didn’t recognize everything initially, before Aperture became unsupported, Photos did eventually handle tags, non-destructive edits, JPEG+RAW pairs, referenced files, and albums.
Apple eventually got the parity enough I was able to move a quarter million photos over into Photos, and haven’t needed to re-open Aperture in a couple years, which is good, as I no longer have anything still on Mojave.
What to do if you’re on Catalina or newer, and need them:

1. ‘Retroactive’ is a tool that gets Aperture working on Big Sur and Catalina: https://github.com/cormiertyshawn895/Retroactive
”All Aperture features should be available except for playing videos, exporting slideshows, Photo Stream, and iCloud Photo Sharing. If RAW photos can't be opened, you need to reprocess them.”

does anyone remember the name of the program that lets you run mojove programs on catlina? (it uses some files from mojove to do it) thx
Or are you talking about Apple Mojave apps like iTunes? That would be Retroactive.
Are you looking for Retrospective?

Running Genshin Impact on an Apple Silicon (M1) Mac! Instructions below:
Could use an Intel mac with a really old version of macOS which has itunes or potentially https://github.com/cormiertyshawn895/Retroactive (on an intel mac). There is a Mac download at https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT208079 (archive.org in-case it gets pulled) Even then it's not really that hard for an M1 Mac. Grab Parallels technical preview for free, get an windows for arm image, get iTunes from above, you're basically done. All of this isn't doesn't take much time and Windows on ARM performs great on the M1 anyway.
Worth mentioning Retroactive (https://github.com/cormiertyshawn895/Retroactive) exists. I'm testing it to see if it works on M1 (if it does, the Windows PC is irrelevant)

Running latest macOS Big Sur and obviously we don’t have old iTunes. To piss off Nolan I put Tenet on my Classic. But instead of going to movies library, it went to Music Videos. Any way I can fix that??
You could also run a virtual machine of macOS 10.13 just because and/or use Retroactive

Tried to make the UI buttons a bit more defined, I hate how flat everything in Big Sur is
fret not, brother

Hacky way to get iPod Scrobbles
(this also works on newer mac versions - catalina etc - if you use retroactive to get itunes back instead of the new apple music)

Anyone Know If Theres Anyway To Get Lastfm On An
You need this version of the Last.fm desktop app (https://mac.softpedia.com/get/Audio/Last-fm.shtml) paired with iTunes 12.9.5.5 or earlier (if you don't have that or are on Catalina or Big Sur you can use Retroactive: https://github.com/cormiertyshawn895/Retroactive/). Then you can turn on device scrobbling in the Last.fm app (it may ask you to install an update) then all works fine :)
