I've been thinking about getting and Emporia and searching around I saw that there's a project on github to extract data using Python.
I have no idea if it works, but it might be worth taking a look.

I just did this with an Emporia power monitor. Basically I used this project: https://github.com/magico13/PyEmVue to run a script every minute, upload it to Thingspeak, and then grab the JSON from Thingspeak in Dakboard.
