  • Firmware hacks/mods/tweaks? | 2021-04-08
I finally tweaked my MK3's firmware, so easy! I followed these instructions on compiling with Arduino and exporting a new hex file, updating the printer with the OctoPrint plugin.
  • Octoprint with MK3S. Still an issue on print quality? | 2021-03-28
As far as I can tell, the baud rate of 115200 is hardcoded in Marlin's Configuration.h . So to use a higher baud rate, no matter if through a physical serial connection or the USB CDC, we would have to use a custom Marlin anyways.
  • Can I use the same GCODE file for an MK3, MK3s, and MK3s+? | 2021-03-27
The MK3S and MK3S+ are the same printer, but is the MK3? No. It is similar. The argument is valid and you didn't provide a link to the differences or similarities to the printers, you provided a link to how to update firmware. Now, take a look at the files provided:
  • How long can I safely pause a print for? | 2021-03-22
Ah yes, the assumptions and speculations. Here are the C coding marlin has encoded telling it to auto shutdown when inactive for a longer time than 15 min, line 6737 is defining the function and is the only code I can find on this subject.

Alright I added the feature as an automatic step in the firmware and created a PR:
  • Anyone have a comprehensive guide on editing the i3-MK3S' firmware? Doing some tinkering and trying to convert the MK3S into a hydrogel extruder. I've seen documentation for how to do it with an MK2S, but for some reason the MK3S isn't accepting my customized firmware. | 2021-02-11
I can't really remember, but probably a pretty bare-bones Debian as that's my go-to for VMs. Ubuntu would work fine as well, being based on that.
  • Any one can help me?, I keep printing this model and every single time, the printer have a "crash detection" on those points, could this be a problem from the file?

  • When is MMU2S supposed to stop the print when the filament runs out ? | 2021-01-13
Reading the source code , it seems like the intention is that when FINDA detects runout, it tries to wriggle the filament around a bit to recover of spurious readings, but then it should inject a M600 filament change command.
  • I created a new OctoPrint plugin and firmware mod to automatically pack/compress g-code over the serial connection, improving data throughput by a ratio of 1.64! There is virtually no overhead on the firmware side! | 2021-01-07
