  • Does Idle Champions work on macOS Big Sur yet?
Works for me on a 2013 MBP that natively installs Big Sur. However, launching Idle Champions (via Steam) on a 2011 iMac that's running Big Sur using one of the more popular patchers immediately causes the hard reboot. Yikes.
  • Office 365 won't install even though it says it should. Ideas? (MacOS HS 10.13.6)
  • iMac late 2013 Big Sur | 2021-02-19
Big Sur works fantastic for me on the same model you have (21.5" Late 2013), even if it is unsupported. If the micropatcher seems too daunting because of the CLI, you can try BenSova's Patched Sur, which takes the micropatcher and wraps it up in a fancy SwiftUI interface. Feel free to ask me if you have any questions.
  • Patched Sur v0.0.7: The Erasing Error is Finally Gone
I think there should be a button there, yes. But if you want to install 11.2.1 for now you can go here to download Patched-Sur.dmg and update by running that.
  • The ultimate 2012 MacBook Pro 15 inch.
Hey, I suggest updating the post install app. It'll make it easier to update when I do have bigger updates. Just download Post-Install-App.dmg from here and use it to replace the existing post install app.
  • Succesful upgrade from Catalina to Big Sur 11.2 on my 15" MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012)
I used BigSurPatcher v0.0.5 and followed the instructions.
  • Patched Sur v0.0.5: Not Quite Updating, But A Lot Of Needed Features.
You actually can still update, it's just not pratical. I thought you meant from Catalina to Big Sur, but on Big Sur to Big Sur it should only give a warning.
  • Patched Sur DMG not detected
  • Updating 21.5inch Late 2012 iMac?
Jokes aside, it'll run Big Sur like a charm, though I do think you should reinstall Catalina first (just boot into recovery mode and resintall Catalina, no need to wipe your drive, it'll keep your data). Then you can use my patcher to upgrade to Big Sur.

  • Finally made the decision From Catalina to Big Sur 11.2
I have successfully upgraded 11.1 to 11.2 on MacBook Pro Retina 10,1 Mid-2012 following the instructions from WiFi/BT do work after the patching of kexts...
  • Do MacOS Catalina and Big Sur work together (on separate Macs)? | 2021-01-30
I don’t think there will be a problem as Catalina still receives updates for 2 years. Even high sierra doesn’t cause problems at all. If you are still afraid, you can install Patched Big Sur which allows older macs to run big sur but it can cause problems.
