  • How should I implement a settings like app?

I’m working on a framework for this - currently in my OpenFind app there’s a settings page that’s completely auto-generated, searchable, and tied to UserDefaults. Here’s the code (am working on isolating this): https://github.com/aheze/OpenFind/tree/main/Sources/Settings

Find is the newest version. All previous versions I made open-source (source code on GitHub) and so renamed it to OpenFind.

I mean... the app has actually been on the App Store for about 2 years now, except I pivoted a bunch of times. At first it was a camera app that scanned text in real-time. Then I focused on text recognition in photos. I've actually open-sourced that version of Find (https://github.com/aheze/OpenFind) and throughout the whole time it's always been free.

It's possible, but it'll take a while for me to find workarounds for all the new things that are iOS 16-only. Yeah, I used to strictly support iOS 13 in the older versions of the app (now open-source!) but iOS 16 just made development so much faster and easier. I'll look into backporting when I get the time though — ping me anytime for updates :)

OpenFind is fully open-source (https://github.com/aheze/OpenFind) and has my entire commit history from v0.0.1 to v2.0.7. It features live camera search, which is useful if you want to look for allergies / dietary restrictions in nutrition labels. I have a video on that if you're interested :)

There isn't one if you're asking about privacy and stuff. A bunch of people before were suspicious of me hoarding data so I open-sourced all previous versions of the app: https://github.com/aheze/OpenFind

You probably have! 2 years ago I posted here but with a much earlier version of the app. That version is now open-source.
