Why is scrolling with mouse so choppy compared to touchpad? Is there a way to fix this?
It is. https://mos.caldis.me/

Dad, I want a macbook / Tell no more, I have a mac for you
This has become a necessity for me when I use macOS https://mos.caldis.me/. Either this or I get used to scrolling sorta backwards on the trackpad.

List of useful tools and helpers for MacOs
Here's a couple of utilities that I find very useful, maybe they're what you've missed in your life. Probably an ad, but it's not paid. I just really enjoy these little helpers. Pls feel free to share your helpers that may benefit others! :) - Bartender - (organizes the menu bar.) - Itsycal - (nice and powerful calendar for the menu bar.) - Turbo Boost Switcher - (solution for overheating Intel Macs.) - MacsFanControl - (adjust your fan behavior to you liking.) - iStat Menus - (Nice litte tool that displays system resources in the menubar. It also can adjust your fan behavior.) - Cheat Sheet - (shows all shortcuts for the app you're using by holding down a key for a couple of seconds, in my case CMD.) - jDownloader - (Download files from anywhere. Youtube vids, mp3s from Youtube vids and also speed up your downloads by downloading files in multiple segments at the same time, giving you more bandwidth from the same server, thus speeding up your download.) - JPEGmini Pro - (decrease the file size of your JPEG files without losing quality at all. Including plugin for Lightroom. Only use this for images that are Final edits, as this works like mp3 files for music. It's removing all invisible image data, making it less suitable for further edits. This saves me more than 70% space when storing my final edits.) - Narrative Select(referral Link) (Link without the referral) - (AI powered image culling software. It ingests pics blazing fast, especially raw files. Analyzes the images, marks files as good, okay or bad examples -> missed focus or closed eyes of your subject. Powerful filters for sorting, ships images to Lightroom with all your ratings and color labels. The best feature is the panel showing close ups of alle the faces in the picture. This is a pure lifesaver for me as a photog.) - Mos - (Smoothes scrolling for non Apple mice, and inverts the scrolling the way it is on MS Windows, without altering natural scrolling on your trackpad.) - Übersicht - (Mod your Desktop with widgets and system Data. Basic coding knowledge required. But you can download widgets made by the community here.) - Asana - (Keep Track of your ToDos and share tasks with your colleagues or family. Really nice piece of software. Free for teams of up to 15 people.)
- Does anyone here use Logitech and have problems with LogiOptions+? It regularly accumulates memory until it crashes and I have to force quit. (M1Pro with Ventura 13.0.1) Probably a Logitech issue but I wanted to cross-post here.

Most of these have become essential to me at this point. What are some of your favorites?
Mos for enabling smooth window scrolling with my gaming mouse clickwheel. Makes Safari a lot more pleasant.

Does macOS simply suck or am I doing it wrong?
Mousehweel - https://mos.caldis.me maybe? I dunno anymore, I switched to natural scrolling, and I use the Magic Mouse. You’re thinking “that mouse is shit, I use an amazing high dpi Logitech mouse” - yeah that used to be me too…

macOS 13 Ventura: The Ars Technica review
Doesn't look like it. But Mos still seems to work if that bothers you (as it does me).
