  • Success - ThinkPad L13 - Big Sur 11.5.1 - OpenCore 0.7.2
    3 projects | /r/hackintosh | 15 Aug 2021
So my laptop is a ThinkPad L13 (non-Yoga model) and I am very grateful to u/Seven_of_eleven for providing the EFI as well as instructions on his [GitHub page](https://github.com/seven-of-eleven/Lenovo-ThinkPad-L13-Yoga-Hackintosh). Even though his is a Yoga model, everything basically works for the normal L13. That being said, apart from the OpenCore instructions, I have to point out that since my laptop does not have an ethernet port and I didn't have an USB to ethernet dongle lying around I was forced to find an alternative method to the normal OpenCore process of creating the USB installation media. After a few minutes of searching on YouTube, I was able to find this channel-[Tech With Arya](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jCWkNCoK7DY)-who had a tutorial on creating a USB installation media that does not require an internet connection during the installation process. I simply inserted the EFI folder provided by u/Seven_of_eleven during the creation process. The next step was spoofing the SMBIOS and manually mounting the EFI partition. For this, I simply followed the very helpful instructions of [Jessies's Flying channel](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D4h06mj4IT4). And like I've said before, almost everything works, except for AirDrop and the TrackPoint scrolling-which sort of works-the problem is after pressing the middle button in order to scroll a page, you have to tilt the TrackPoint to the left to go down, and right to go up. Not a huge issue but something I will have to look into when I have the time. Big thanks to all those mentioned above for their awesome work. **Hardware:** Laptop: ThinkPad L13 (2020) OS: macOS 11.5.1 SMBIOS: MacBookPro16,3 CPU: Intel Core i5-10210U @ 2.11 GHz GPU: Intel UHD 620 RAM: 16 GB SSD: WD Blue 550 1 TB NVME Wifi & Bluetooth: Intel Wireless AC 9560 **What's working:** Basically everything, except: **What's not working:** AirDrop is not working, although I believe there's a kext to fix it. Also, the TrackPoint issue I mentioned above. Weekend's over so I simply don't have the time to look into them right now. **Battery life:** I was initially hesitant to install macOS because of the worse battery life that mackintoshes usually entail. However, I do get around 5-6 hours which I think is okay given my use-case. Again, I still have to tinker around and also check background running apps. At the moment, this is a WFH setup so it's usually always plugged in.
