  • Some of the most ambitious mostly unheard of mods out there. Many of which are not stable but still impressive. Most don't add content to the game but what they do is still incredible to me.
Iris Pretty much Optifines successor. Fabric only though.

Issue #663 is more than likely the case. I'm aware of several forks of Iris that are working on this feature, but currently they are unstable and not ready for production use. It's currently a feature being worked on
  • Why is my Minecraft lagging? it wasnt so laggy in the 1.16 | 2021-09-16
Try using Sodium and Iris my fps was about 30-40 with a 2070 and a i5 9600k when using optic one but now it averages about 120-130 using sodium and iris only thing is you can’t change shader options apart from antialiasing atm but it should get support for that soon since it’s a relatively new mod
  • Sad but true | 2021-09-15
It would be really ironic if he wanted to accept now that there's better alternatives like Iris with built-in Sodium

Assuming Starline is actually the Starlight mod developed for Tuinity by SpottedLeaf, as of now there is no way to change the shader settings. Issue #663 is what u might want to look into
  • When I select 'apply' in the shader menu nothing happens. This is the 3rd shaders i've tried. This is the most recent version of Fabulously Optimized btw (the one that came out today). Any solution?

Check and see if this is the same version you already have or the universal JAR file here I'm afraid you'll just have to test and see if they fix the issues, as i've never used Iris, but good luck. If that doesn't work, maybe you could just not use them until the next version comes out, or maybe someone else will have a better idea
Shouldn't be using that much ram, unless you're using a massive render distance. When you first start using Iris, check how much ram it's using then, and if it's much lower, it's definitely got a memory leak.Seems to be some issues with Iris, you could check and see if you have the memory leak fixed version or not Seems to be a fixed version mentioned at the bottom
  • changing shader setings with iris | 2021-08-23
Currently the settings for shaders have not been added. Issue #663 is what you might be refering to
  • does anyone know how to fix this? I'm using sildurs vibrant shaders (v1.28 medium) | 2021-08-23

  • iris or optifine? | 2021-08-11
Depends on the hardware of the system. Iris has the advantage of Sodium, while Optifine has it built it. Generally from what i have seen, sodium works better than optifine, so Iris def is better. Note that Iris is still a wip, and the feature to change shader settings is not available as of now (Though Issue 663 is something that is consider. they are working on a implementation on this issue)
  • The state of Optifine and Iris from a perspective | 2021-08-10
Shader setting support is something that Iris is working on. There are several known forks that tried to add those, but those are known to be pretty unstable. This issue has basically been the most requested feature of all time.
