[Video Games; modding] GShade drama
This process earned NotNite quite a lot of accusations of piracy and stealing shaders/presets. After some back-and-forth bickering, Marot added a license to GShade files starting from the 4.1.1 version, moving the files to a self-hosted web URL behind a password. This decision was ridiculed a bit because many core shader files like KeepUI already had a completely free license built in due to their ReShade origins.

Gshade updates discontinued ;-;
Backup and/or delete anything that the newly installed reshade-shaders folder, if you had install any, DO THIS BEFORE YOU LOAD THE GAME, download the zip 4.1.1 from https://github.com/Mortalitas/GShade/releases/tag/v4.1.1 unzip the gshade-shaders folder ONLY and rename it to reshade-shaders, into your game folder, Then paste the BACKUP Texture folder from the BACKUP gshade-shaders which you BACKUP before you uninstall, into the NEW Texture folder but DO NOT DELETE anything inside the NEW Texture folder, cause they rename/scramble some of the texture name.
Its also been brough to my attention that the OFFICIAL GShade install and github has been removed by the author, meaning any third parties using their repo as a hook will be bricked and will not install or work. please be sure when installing to back up your shaders and potentially presets if you have custom ones. I know the change to the reshade isnt one to one so please be informed that it might take some finagling to make it act like Gshade.The official gshade github link is not available:https://github.com/Mortalitas/GShade.

How do you disable the forced update in Gshade?
Truly. An easy way to confirm or deny this would be to look at the Github changelog (https://github.com/Mortalitas/GShade/releases/) and then see if the dates correspond to FFXIV patches and hotfixes.

Reshade using Wine on Proton
You can also try GShade, it is mainly made for Final Fantasy XIV but I had less issues with it than with ReShade. There's also this nice CLI tool for installing it which makes it even less of a hassle.
- Yo did we get a shader update? Model faces are looking much better on the load screen these days

Any Way to Make Reshade Work on Dx12 and Vulkan Games?
Could always try gshade. Unfortunately it's a Windows only program so it won't help you with native applications. But there is a CLI tool to install it for Windows games on Linux. It supports dx12 and vulkan from what I can tell. https://github.com/Mortalitas/GShade https://github.com/HereInPlainSight/gshade_installer
