  • Desperate need of help
I recently tried to restore to unsigned IPSW using futurerestore GUI here: --> https://github.com/CoocooFroggy/FutureRestore-GUI/releases , and I have a checkm8 vulnerable iPad 7th gen iOS 14.4.2(maybe 14.5.1, it might have updated to the latest version, andjailbroken with checkra1n obviously lol), and I got an Error: Unable to Restore Device. Now I can't get it out of recovery mode. For obvious reasons, I don't want to use iTunes, I've tried 3utools, I've tried the GUI, I've tried checkra1n, I've tried ReiBoot, I've tried AnyFix, and I've tried soft and hard reset. Can anyone help me out? Please? I don't want to be forced to update

  • If you’re currently jailbroken, save blobs!
For both, you can save blobs for the version you’re on using APTickets, but I haven’t spent the time looking at that because there’s no reason to use them unless you’re stuck in recovery mode. If you’re at that point, you’ll probably be better off trying to use the futurerestore GUI by CoocooFroggy and first trying to exit recovery mode. If that doesn’t work, try the blob, but I can’t guarantee it’ll work. (https://github.com/CoocooFroggy/FutureRestore-GUI)
  • [Tip] If you’re on 14.3 or below, save blobs NOW.

That was the old version of future restore. Use https://github.com/marijuanARM/futurerestore and if you want a GUI use https://github.com/CoocooFroggy/FutureRestore-GUI
  • What is the correct upgrade strategy?
In the future, use dimentio to set generator, save blobs with https://shsh.host and if a jailbreak is released for something like 14.4, use futurerestore to update using blobs. I would try sending you a tutorial but the only help that’s up to date and available is the r/jailbreak discord, which is just a mess. The people who are supposed to help don’t really help that much, and they haven’t updated their most recent tutorial in their pins to the new GUI that was released. The GUI is here: https://github.com/CoocooFroggy/FutureRestore-GUI
