Audiophiles on Linux; how is it?

1:1 backups, am i missing something obvious
If you're looking for a way to restore your system configuration should your drive go kaput, perhaps look into declarative means of configuration instead. With those, your system is defined by a few text files and restoring or duplicating it is trivial. If you want to stay with Arch (great distro), imperative tools like Ansible, Puppet or Chef should work. If you want to try greener pastures, look into NixOS which is what I use. All I need to restore my machine is a few text files like this one (I just clone the git repo).

Why aren't systems like NixOS and GNU Guix more popular?
They beauty of Nix modules is that you can split your config however you like and make all of them portable with an expressive language. Here's my desktop configuration that I can en-/disable based on whether a machine needs a desktop environment and here is the config that's applied in all my machines for example. I split them like that because that's the way I like them to be, not because the programs I run require me to.
