I'm using Aria2 on my server: https://aria2.github.io/ and add the GUI from here: https://github.com/mayswind/AriaNg/releases Actually this is working for a long time and I'm pretty happy with this combination...
Any selfhosted aria2/similar download managers that can controlled remotely?

Another one is AriaNG, pretty nice interface to your aria2 instance. You can export your configuration so you don't need to log-in on a new device every time. If you're using an Android phone, you can try Aria2App to control your download server remotely.
Paperless ng access over the internet?
5 projects | reddit.com/r/selfhosted | 3 Nov 2021
On your host machine (RPi, desktop, old laptop), you would need to run your services (paperless-ng, anything else you feel like, e.g. filebrowser, navidrome, Jellyfin, qBittorrent, Aria2Ng) which (best practice) is to serve to localhost/127.0.0.1 and then you use nginx to connect localhost:port to sensible addresses on LAN or a small homepage, which are then forwarded to your router, which is then connected to dyndns.
Alternative App for torrents instead of Download Station? ("Client transmission/2.93 is not acceptable!")

DownloadStation uses Transmission ( https://transmissionbt.com ) on its backend but 2.93 it's outdated. Try to run on your pc the version 3.0, if it works you can install a web version through Docker. If it still doesn't work with it, try Aria it's like an "open source download station" ( https://github.com/mayswind/AriaNg ).

Torrent seedbox on Raspberry Pi: speeds drop to zero
2 projects | reddit.com/r/selfhosted | 29 Jun 2021
I've recently set up a torrent seedbox/mini home server on my Raspberry Pi 3something. I've got it running qBittorrent-nox, Aria2 (following this and this tutorials, with AriaNg frontend served via Apache), and filebrowser/SFTP/Samba for file access. I had some other services running, but I've stopped them for the moment. I've set Aria2 and qBittorrent to download to /media/pi/Downloads, which is the automatic mount point for my 500GB HDD (NTFS, via FUSE)
