  • Is there a Japanese version of Pleco's Android screen reader
Thanks for the suggestion. I've actually been trying to use this app because I've had a few people recommend it to me, but I haven't been able to get it to work really well. It either says "No characters recognized" or it gives a lot of incorrect characters. It appears to use OCR instead of screen reading text directly off the screen, so it has a relatively high error rate, which is frustrating. I also have to adjust the window a lot so it's not very enjoyable to use. Because of this, I've just been copy/pasting text into Takoboto or Akebi because that's less frustrating and those apps at least support Anki card creation (see list of Anki card creating apps here if you're curious:, but these apps also don't have screen reader support so it's not as nice of an experience as Pleco.
