I made a CLI tool to wrap any website into a single executable AppImage.

Our great sponsors
  • InfluxDB - Power Real-Time Data Analytics at Scale
  • WorkOS - The modern identity platform for B2B SaaS
  • SaaSHub - Software Alternatives and Reviews
  • teams-for-linux

Unofficial Microsoft Teams for Linux client

Also FYI, https://github.com/IsmaelMartinez/teams-for-linux is a thing (which runs far better for me than the official client). Oh and hey looks like they already provide an AppImage for you if you wanna use that :)

  • chrome-ssb-osx

Simple script for making Chrome-based SSBs (site specific browsers)

This could literally be implemented by a bash script on linux AND mac and use Chrome OR Firefox for a footprint of under two megabytes by creating wrappers with icons that start the browser in ssb mode, like this for example (no endorsement, just an illustration of the idea) : https://github.com/lhl/chrome-ssb-osx

  • InfluxDB

Power Real-Time Data Analytics at Scale. Get real-time insights from all types of time series data with InfluxDB. Ingest, query, and analyze billions of data points in real-time with unbounded cardinality.

  • nativefier

Discontinued Make any web page a desktop application

Worse still, they're literally using a GitHub project with 26K stars: https://github.com/nativefier/nativefier

  • epichrome

An application and Chrome extension for creating web-based applications that work like standalone Mac apps.

Yes. But you can also do this natively via Chrome and Chromium-based browsers as well. Though not Linux specific, I've used Epichrome to create single-site-browser apps on macOS for this purpose. I have, for example, multiple apps for Gmail - each with a Gmail icon with the username displayed on the icon so I can easily switch between several Gmail accounts without confusing them, all while keeping cookies and all local content separate.
