there are some other free alternatives though, such as Navidrome which is specifically for music. there are a few apps for it on Android but afaik the main one for iOS is Substreamer - haven't used it before so I can't speak on how good it is but judging from the screenshots and reviews it seems fine
last one that comes to mind would be Jellyfin, which is similar to Plex in that it can handle other types of media too, like your movies and TV shows. i haven't used the music portion of it but it seems like the only music-focused app for that is Finamp
